Our book of the week is The Girl Who Wrote Loneliness by Kyung-sook Shin translated by Ha-yun Jung.  A coming-of-age story of a factory girl in Seoul in the 1970s, this shows a different side of the rapid development of South Korea. Cited in Korea as one of the most important literary novels of the decade.
